I built a radio  Nuts and bolts, welding, fabricating, making engines sing is so satisfying.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>My first job was an electronics shop assistant when I was 16. I worked at Expert Electronics a TV, radio and other equipment repair assistant. This was back in the vacuum tube and picture tube days before LCD displays. I learned how to fix record turntables, tape decks, radios and TVs. I did the simple stuff and learned from Joe who was a radar tech in the Navy. I carried around the tube case.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>Sometime later..<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>I then started messing around with cars in the 70s, first car was a 1959 VW Type 1 a 6 volt system that I put an 8 track tape deck in with a 6 to 12 converter. Gotta have tunes when you&#8217;re a teen. Next was a Fiat 850 spyder that the floor and rocker panels rusted out, I ended up chopping it in half with an axe and stuffed in the back of my next car, a 1955 Ford Ranch Wagon and taking it to the dump.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>What a trip&#8230;more about stuff later.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I love working on anything electronic or mechanical.
